Dear Traveler, Something Is Brewing…
Helloooo travel family. Yes, the extra ooo’s are needed because it feels like it’s been an extra-long summer. Well… remember in my last post when I told you it was okay to rest? I took my own advice. I’ve been enjoying a little slower pace, catching up on a few things, spending time at home, and—because apparently, I can only sit still for so long—starting to think about what’s next.
And let’s just say… the suitcase may have started looking at me again. 👀 But before we get to what’s next, let me tell you what I’ve been up to since we last talked.
My job sent me to Texas last month for training, and let’s just say… I almost didn’t make it out alive. HA!! Here’s the setup: August. Texas. Humidity. I’m guessing there’s not much more I need to say. OH MY!
POV: You thought you were built for the Texas heat. Texas said, “Girl, sit down.” 🥵
I clearly underestimated the humidity, and Auntie was… UNPREPARED. 😂 The heat was disrespectful, and some of my life decisions at that point were questionable. Like… Who told me this was a good idea? Why am I outside? Should I have said no to training? I survived… but barely.
And honestly, that little Texas adventure reminded me of something: sometimes we don't have to go far to have a story worth telling. Sometimes the unexpected adventures are the ones that make us laugh the hardest, teach us the most, and give us something to talk about when we get back home.
Work trips for me are NEVER glamorous. There’s a big difference between saying, “I’m traveling to Texas!” and saying, “My job sent me to Texas for training, and I’m trying not to melt before I make it to the training room.” Yikes!
But even though I was there for work, I still tried to enjoy the experience. Because that’s the thing about travel: you don't always get to choose the circumstances, but you can choose to make the most out of a trip you didn’t pay for. Please don't tell my employer I said that, and if you're my co-worker, please divert your eyes. LOL 😂
Hear nothing, See nothing, Speak nothing
But let me ask you… when was the last time you did something that made you stop and say, “What in the world was I thinking?” 😂
Was it a trip? A new hobby? A questionable purchase? Or just one of those “I really thought this was a good idea at the time” moments? 👀

In keeping with my goal of trying to visit more states, I’ve been thinking about where I want to go next. Because I live in the States, it’s so easy to get focused on international destinations that we forget there are plenty of states to explore right here at home.
Hold up, though… I’m still getting that international trip in! Auntie is not giving up her passport stamps anytime soon. HA!! So, I started looking at the map… 👀

My mom eagerly decided to join me on yet another round of SHE-NAN-AGAINS. I thought after Ireland maybe she would slow down, but NOPE! She has her suitcase on standby. HAHA!
Apparently, she stays ready so she doesn’t have to get ready.
